It shows Republican hypocracy at its finest (and funniest). I did not make any of this up. I stole it from AP.

Senator Larry Craig (R-Idaho) lost a bid to withdraw his guilty plea in a mens room sex sting, but vowed to finish his Senate term (after stating earlier he would resign) to the chagrin of some Republican leaders. He stated he would stay in the Senate shortly after Idaho Republican Gov. C.L. "Butch" Otter (remember, I said I didn't make any of this up) announced he had selected a replacement in the event of a vacancy (someone from a Boise Airport bathroom. Okay, that one I made up). Craig said in a statement "I will continue my effort to clear my name in the Senate Ethics Committee- something that is not possible if I am not serving in the Senate" (Well duh!). His decision to stay and fight raises the strong possibility of public hearings- almost certain to be televised- centered on the issue of gay sex (of Republican Senators in airport restrooms. Remember, Republicans think gays are evil.) Craig's insistence on finishing his term was received frostily by his colleagues. Senator John Ensign (R-Nev.) said that "Senator Craig gave us his word" that he would resign if he could not overturn the guilty plea. "I wish he would stick to his word" (as Republicans are famous for doing). Asked if Craig would be a distraction for the party, Ensign said: "It may be a personal distraction for me" (like when we go to the restroom together). Senator Craig has stated "I am not gay" and "I am innocent of the charges against me" (the ones which he plead guilty to).

Senator Craig said he plead guilty to disorderly conduct in an attempt to avoid a public debacle (unlike what is happening now). An undercover police officer on a sting operation said that the Senator occupied the stall next to his and tapped his foot and moved it so that it was touching his (the officer's). The he made a gesture towards the front of the stall with his hand. The officer then presented his badge and I.D. under the divider and pointed in the direction of the exit, to which Senator Craig exclaimed "No!", then handed the officer a business card that identified him as a member of Senate. "What do you think about that?" Craig said, according to the report (perhaps he was on a "fact finding" mission).

Senator Mike Crapo (again, not making this up. Really.), (R-Idaho) said Craig "has the right to pursue his legal options, as does any citizen (unless they are gay, non-Christian, non-white, foreign born, female, pro-choice, flag burning, pro gun control, war protesting scum), and I support his effort. I look forward to serving with him as we continue to work on issues important to Idaho (like transparent bathroom stalls). Senator Arlen Specter (R-PA) (who has a long track record of being fair, impartial, and non-partisan [end sarcasm]) who had encouraged Craig to try to overturn his plea (to set an example to other Senators seeking sex in airport men's rooms), told reporters that his colleague had a right to stay in office. "Disorderly conduct is not moral turpitude and is not a basis for leaving the Senate" (he said, eyeballing Teddie Kennedy).

Just goes to show you how far some will go to protect their "morals".

What is this crazy thing?

I am still trying to figure things out on this blog scene. It would be surely nice if I could have a quick way to subscribe to my DWs blog so that I can read it easy. When I was reading her blog the other day I was trying to figure out how I could do that and I saw "flag this blog" and thought "that must be it". Oops, that if you think objectionable content has been posted. Abort! Abort! Well, I'll get this new fangled technology down sooner or later.
I moved here from LJ because I don't think that it should be more difficult to access, post, and create a blog account than it is to access my online bank account.
As for the anxiety issues I have posted about on the LJ, I spoke with a good friend who basically told me that being that I have gone through life without much trauma in my adult life and now getting several blows at once, I am having difficulty coping with the issues. He being someone who has experienced similar issues to mine, he stated that he went through the same phase and what I felt was basically normal human behavior and that he got over it by not wallowing in his problems. I just needed to step out some more and expand my social life to interests outside of my core family, which I tend to cling to. I agreed and am going to take his advice on that. While I may have some more bumps in the road to go over, I am optimistic that it will be worked out.

New location and Sheriff News

I have followed my wife's lead and am also moving my blog to this location. It is much easier to keep all my eggs in one Googley basket.
I have received some interesting news from Metro HR. A few months ago, I had interviewed for the Transportation Division of the D.C.S.O. I studied all of the policies regarding transportation, vehicle usage, and anything else I thought appropriate every night for a week before I went to interview. I went to the interview, which was a panel of three people, the major in charge of transportation and courts, the Lieutenant over transportation, and one of the facility administrators. I answered all the questions with confidence, avoided saying "uhhh" and didn't let them see me sweat. With my meager seniority and my answers during the interview ( checking my answers, I got most if not all right), I was hoping for a ranking in the teens (their were 45 applicants, most with seniority over me). Yesterday I received an e-mail from Metro HR and I have ranked 9th. Two people in my facility who have more seniority and experience ranked in the twenties. Since they interview the top five ranked for positions, I probably will not make it to transportation for a few months, but it is a distant ray of hope to get out of the facilities. It would also mean a promotion and while not that important to me, I will also be armed.
